Fieldwork Supervision

Learn More About Fieldwork Supervision with Casey

Ethical, structured BCBA fieldwork supervision designed to support skill development, accountability, and transition into independent practice.

I provide supervision that goes beyond hour tracking—focusing on clinical reasoning, ethical decision-making, and real-world BCBA responsibilities.

What This Supervision Includes

My fieldwork supervision program is aligned with BACB requirements and structured to help supervisees build competence, not just accumulate hours.

Supervisees engage in:

  • Assessment and data analysis

  • Program design, revision, and monitoring

  • Staff and caregiver training

  • Ethical decision-making and case conceptualization

  • Supervision preparation and professional communication

All activities are reviewed and approved to ensure they qualify as valid fieldwork experiences FieldworkSupervisionContract.

Supervision Structure

Supervision includes a combination of:

  • Individual supervision

  • Group supervision

  • Direct client-overlap observation

All meetings are scheduled in advance and conducted in a clinical, instructional format. Supervision time is protected, intentional, and documented.

Supervisees are expected to submit weekly logs, written reflections, and curriculum assignments to support learning and accountability.

Training Model & Phases

Phase One: Fieldwork & Foundational Training (6 months)

Focus:

  • Ethics and professionalism

  • Data collection, graphing, and analysis

  • Guided program writing

  • Completion of supervision curriculum

  • Accrual and verification of fieldwork hours

This phase prioritizes learning and guided practice, not independent case oversight

Phase Two: Advanced Clinical Training (6–12 months)

Designed as a mentorship-style transition year, Phase Two focuses on developing BCBA-level skills under supervision, including:

  • Staff supervision and performance feedback

  • Parent and caregiver training

  • Program and behavior plan writing

  • Exposure to insurance and documentation standards

  • Clinical decision-making and collaboration

Responsibilities increase gradually based on competence and supervisor approval. Independent BCBA practice is not permitted during this phase

Phase Three: Advanced Mentorship (6 months)

After fieldwork hours are completed, ongoing supervision and mentorship continue at a reduced rate.

This phase supports:

  • Clinical judgment refinement
